Server Backup: Supported systems

The following server operating systems and applications are supported for Server Backup.

Windows Server

  • Windows Server 2025 – all installation options except Nano Server (also on ARM)
  • Windows Server 2022 – all installation options except Nano Server
  • Windows Server 2019 – all installation options except Nano Server
  • Windows Server 2016 – all installation options except Nano Server (legacy agent only)
  • Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2 – all editions incl. Essentials (legacy agent only)
  • Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2 – Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, Foundation, Web (legacy agent only)
  • Windows Server 2003 SP1 / 2003 R2 – Standard, Enterprise (legacy agent only)
  • Windows Small Business Server 2011 / 2008 / 2003 (legacy agent only)
  • Windows Storage Server 2016 / 2012 R2 / 2012 / 2008 R2 / 2008 / 2003 (legacy agent only)

Requirement: Linux kernel 2.6.9 to 7.0 and glibc 2.3.4 or later.

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2022, 2019, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2008 R2, 2008, 2005, each incl. Express. Clusters: Always On Availability Groups from SQL Server 2012.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server SE, 2019, 2016, 2013 from CU1, 2010, 2007. Mailbox backup from 2010 SP1. Clusters: Database Availability Groups from Exchange 2010.
  • Active Directory: domain controllers on all supported Windows Server versions except 2025
  • Oracle Database 21c, 19c, 12c, 11g, all editions, single instance only
  • Microsoft SharePoint 2013, 2010 SP1, 2007 SP2
  • SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 03 on RHEL 7.6 or SUSE 15 with XFS
  • MySQL 8.0, 5.7, 5.6, 5.5 and MariaDB 10.0 – 10.7, each on Linux

Windows Server 2025 is not supported for SQL Server, Exchange and Active Directory.

Processor architecture

Windows: x64 and ARM (ARM only Windows Server 2025). Linux: x86 and x86_64.
